On October 11th, the fourth and final set of finalists for Start Peninsula 2023 was announced following an online Micro Pitch competition. The finalists were B&C’s Gloves, Forentify, and Melodyville. Ten pitchers participated in the Micro Pitch.
- B&C’s Gloves is a glove and fish scaler to grip and scale fish by using your hands. This offers a faster and safer way to descale fish while protecting against fish handlers’ disease.
- Forentify is a software solution to detect manipulated media, including deep fakes, cheap fakes, and other synthetic and manipulated media types in various media formats.
- Melodyville provides high-quality, original, and personalized songs for organizations and individuals. Next, they will transition to custom jingle cards on a marketplace.
Each finalist will receive a $500 prize and is invited to participate in the Championship Pitch event on November 8th, where they will have a chance to win $5,000 to support their business growth. They will also have free access to local resources.

Start Peninsula 2023 is hosted by York County, in partnership with the Cities of Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg and Poquoson and James City County.
