Ronda Markus is the President of LTI (Lee Telecom, Inc.) located in Hampton, Virginia. She served in the US Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic and later obtained her degree in Computer Science/Electronics. Her education let to a position with AT&T Federal Systems as a fiber optic technician. In 1993, Ronda joined her father, Ron Markus to implement and head the Security Department of what was then called Lee Communications in support of a contract with Newport News Shipbuilding. The company’s security division grew, and Ronda eventually moved to the communications side of the business.
In 2002, Ronda became the majority owner of LTI and in 2008, she was able to obtain 100% ownership of the company. Having to climb the ladder (quite literally) has provided her with plenty of valuable perspectives. She has a solid understanding of the many challenges and concerns that employees in the communications industry face today. All her decisions are made with her employees in mind. In recent years she has made some significant changes with the company including the opening of a New Mexico branch, transitioning into other contracting arenas, and the addition of her son, Justin Phillips, as Vice President.
